Job summary

Flux Consulting in Warrington is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to lead temporary works design on diverse infrastructure and building projects. A minimum of 5 years' experience in structural design is required, with the ability to present to clients and stakeholders and manage production of drawings and calculations.

The role offers hybrid working and an excellent salary package up to £60,000, with opportunities to influence project delivery and quality standards within the team.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Working towards or chartered with ICE/IStructE.
• Proven experience in structural design and temporary works.
• Strong knowledge of design codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver temporary works designs in accordance with BS 5975 and the Eurocodes.
• Be able to confidently lead projects, presenting to and working directly with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Produce detailed calculations, drawings, and reports to support design solutions.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site visits and inspections as necessary.
• Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and procedures within the company.
• Be prepared to help us define a new standard of quality that the industry should come to expect.

The team is composed of highly motivated, experienced and driven Civil and Structural Engineers who are passionate about delivering excellence in engineering.

Role Overview:

We are seeking Senior Structural Engineers who have been working within the construction / engineering industry for a minimum of 5 years to fill a Senior Design Engineer role. You'll be able to demonstrate significant experience in structural design, with the capability to:

• Design and assess new and existing steel and reinforced concrete structures
• Design temporary propping
• Assess demolition sequences for structural stability
• Design excavation support
• Design façade retention systems
• Produce (and manage the production of) general arrangement and detailed structural drawings

This role offers the opportunity to work on a strong pipeline of exciting infrastructure, building, and heavy industry-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proven experience in engineering design, including the areas mentioned above, particularly structural engineering or civil engineering.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
