The Abbey in Manchester is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our permanent team in Abbey Hey, Greater Manchester. The role focuses on structural and temporary works design for complex projects, offering a strong salary and benefits package.

You will lead project design, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with the Associates. A solid understanding of temporary works, facade retention, propping, basements, and use of design software is essential. On-site parking is available.

• Experience in temporary works and structural design.
• Ability to lead project design and influence delivery.
• Strong understanding of façade retention, needling, propping and basements.

Responsibilities

• Lead project design and coordinate the engineering team.
• Mentor junior engineers and support Associates.
• Apply engineering judgment to complex temporary works schemes.
• Contribute to design development for protruding scenarios like plan bracing and crash decks.
