Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Telecoms Network Architect for a fully remote role. You will design scalable network architectures to support global telecom services, with a focus on South Africa, leading architectural direction from your home office.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree, 9+ years of design experience, deep IP/MPLS/BGP knowledge, 4G/5G and NFV/SDN expertise, and strong communication for remote leadership. You will mentor engineers and drive strategic initiatives remotely.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Telecommunications, CS, EE, or related field.
• 9+ years in telecommunications network design and architecture.
• Deep knowledge of IP networking, MPLS, BGP, routing, switching and security.
• Experience with 4G/5G wireless and fixed-line architectures.
• Cloud and virtualization (NFV/SDN) understanding.
• Industry certifications (CCIE/JNCIE) desirable.

• Experience with wireless technologies (4G, 5G) and fixed-line network architectures.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies and virtualization (NFV/SDN).
• Proven ability to design and implement large-scale, complex network solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
• Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical projects in a remote environment.
