Role Title: Senior Technology Risk & Control Specialist
Duration: contract to run until 28/11/2025
Location: Hybrid 60% office, 40% remote. In Sheffield, Birmingham, or Edinburgh
Rate: up to £482.30 per day Umbrella inside IR35

Role purpose / summary

• Support control operators to lead and deliver transformational initiatives across multiple controls to manage risk in line with organisational priorities, utilising Agile methodology and tooling, with a focus on automation.
• Ensure technology controls align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and the company's risk management strategy.
• Undertake initiatives to enhance or remediate controls sustainably for enduring outcomes.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of technology controls, identifying areas for improvement and reporting to executive management.
• Establish and monitor key control indicators (KCIs) to track risk mitigation effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key senior stakeholders to promote a unified approach to technology risk management.
• Utilise risk data to influence activity prioritisation.

• Proven track record of delivering sustainable outcomes in large-scale organisations.
• Experience influencing at c-suite level and managing conflicting stakeholder opinions.
• Extensive experience in technology risk management, control design, and compliance support.
• Understanding of control operations, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
