About Sage:

Sage is a global academic publisher of books, journals, and library resources with a growing range of technologies to enable discovery, access, and engagement. Believing that research and education are critical in shaping society, Sara Miller McCune founded Sage in 1965. Today, we are controlled by a group of trustees charged with maintaining our independence and mission indefinitely.

Our guaranteed independence means we’re free to:

  • Do more– supporting an equitable academic future, furthering disciplines that drive social change, and helping social and behavioural science make an impact
  • Work together– building lasting relationships, championing diverse perspectives, and co-creating resources to transform teaching and learning
  • Think long-term– experimenting, taking risks, and investing in new ideas
About our Team:

Our Technology Product Management team plays a central role in delivering scalable, innovative, and business-focused technology solutions. The team is tasked with developing and advancing our enterprise data and analytics capabilities. This effort supports improved decision-making, operational excellence, and long-term organisational growth. We work closely with Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure, Quality Assurance, Delivery Management, and business leaders across various functions. Together, we deliver data platforms, analytics products, and modern data solutions that provide measurable value. We encourage a collaborative, inclusive environment where curiosity, innovation, and continuous improvement thrive, and diverse perspectives enable us to tackle complex challenges.

Could you be our new Senior Technology Product Manager, Business Insights? Are you?
  • An experienced product leader with a track record of partnering with software engineering teams to deliver technology, data, or analytics solutions that achieve measurable business outcomes.
  • Skilled at creating and executing product strategies and roadmaps, with experience balancing competing priorities while delivering long-term value.
  • Experienced in owning or leading the development of data products, including data platforms, data warehouses or lakehouses, data pipelines, analytics, and business intelligence solutions.
  • Confident leading large-scale data or technology transformation initiatives, such as platform modernisation, data migration, or enterprise replatforming programmes.
  • A strong communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into clear, meaningful messages for different audiences, from technical specialists to senior business leaders.
  • Effective at building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels, creating alignment across teams with diverse priorities and perspectives.
  • Commercially minded, with experience using financial data, investment planning, resourcing decisions, and ROI analysis to support strategic product decisions.
  • Passionate about developing others, sharing knowledge, mentoring peers, and contributing to a collaborative, inclusive, and continuously improving product management community.
Your new role:

As a Senior Technology Product Manager, Business Insights, you will define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for critical data products, platforms, and services. You will help develop how data is collected, managed, transformed, and consumed across Sage, ensuring our technology investments deliver meaningful outcomes for colleagues, customers, and the business. Working across multiple teams and senior collaborators, you will lead complex initiatives, influence strategic decisions, and champion a product-led approach to enterprise data transformation.

  • Define and convey a clear product vision and strategy for data platforms, analytics, reporting, and business intelligence products, ensuring alignment with Sage's objectives.
  • Develop and continuously evolve product roadmaps, balancing business priorities, technical dependencies, risks, and opportunities to improve value delivery.
  • Lead enterprise-scale data and technology initiatives, driving successful outcomes across multiple delivery teams and collaborator groups.
  • Partner closely with engineering, quality assurance, delivery, architecture, and business teams to ensure solutions meet user needs and strategic goals.
  • Build positive relationships with senior leaders and collaborators, providing clear communication, managing expectations, and influencing decision-making through data and insight.
  • Establish and monitor product success measures, including benchmarks and objectives and key results, using data-driven insights to inform priorities and investment decisions.
  • Champion Agile ways of working that encourage collaboration, adaptability, continuous improvement, and high-performing cross-functional teams.
  • Build compelling arguments and investment recommendations, demonstrating value, return on investment, and impact while proactively managing risks and dependencies.
Overview of Benefits
  • 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) with 2 additional floating personal days.
  • Hybrid working up to 2 days per week in office and a home working allowance.
  • Life assurance, income protection, and travel insurance.
  • Private medical cover and access to the company doctor.
  • Tuition scheme and support for pursuing professional qualifications, including access to Sage books and journals.
  • Variety of snacks and beverages available in the office.
  • Healthy lifestyle reimbursement and anniversary trips.
