Your role involves identifying and removing blockers and inefficiencies, leveraging data to improve workflows, and leading to better outcomes.

As a senior member of the Home Office Technology Delivery community, you will share knowledge and experience with colleagues across the department and wider Government, building skills and applying best practices and standards.

You will support the UK’s security and prosperity through the products and services you help deliver.

This position is available on a full-time or flexible basis, with some roles potentially suitable for a combination of office and home-based work. Where applicable, employees are expected to spend at least 60% of their working time in the office. Queries can be directed to the contact email at the bottom of the advert.

We value diversity and inclusion, welcoming applications from various backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. We particularly encourage applications from women, people with disabilities, and LGBT+ individuals, as they are currently underrepresented at this grade level. Appointments will be made based on merit through fair and open competition.

We are looking to fill key roles in several programmes and projects, including managing teams working with internal and external suppliers, teams, and functions. These roles involve managing risks and complex dependencies, requiring excellent collaboration, roadmap and plan alignment, and communication skills with a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.

One role will focus on delivering time-critical decommissioning activities with numerous complex dependencies in a resource-constrained environment.

Three roles will work alongside other Senior Technical Delivery Managers within Biometric multi-solution environments, both in AWS Cloud and Matcher Platform infrastructures. These roles will be responsible for end-to-end technical delivery within existing governance structures, often requiring innovative thinking.

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  1. Taking responsibility for delivering technology products and services, coaching teams in methodologies suitable for complex and ambiguous situations. Facilitating structured problem-solving and continuous process improvement.
  2. Creating and maintaining realistic plans, ensuring delivery within quality, cost, and time constraints. Removing blockers, managing stakeholders, and engaging with governance as needed.
  3. Developing motivated, effective teams, fostering collaboration and delivery, providing direction, and offering constructive feedback. Monitoring team health and resolving issues collaboratively.
  4. Identifying, understanding, and mitigating risks, involving specialists when necessary.
  5. Managing engagement with technical and non-technical stakeholders, collecting feedback to improve relationships and resolve issues.
  6. Acting as a primary contact for suppliers involved in delivery, monitoring performance, and resolving problems.
