Reporting to the Director of Technology Strategy and Enterprise Architecture, this role ensures enterprise technology solutions align with business, data, and technology strategies, and our priorities.

As a Senior Technology Architect, you will embed the EA vision and develop roadmaps for business, data, applications, and technology. You will collaborate with Principle Architects and influence stakeholders across business and technical domains, understanding overall strategies, organizational fit, compliance, and ongoing requirements.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for an architect interested in driving transformation through Enterprise Architecture models. You should be skilled at navigating across business domains and fostering relationships with CIO teams and architects.

The working hours are between 28-35 hours per week.

We promote hybrid working, combining office presence and home working, to foster collaboration and flexibility. You will spend at least two days per week, or 40% of your time if part-time, based at one of our offices in London, Swindon, Bournemouth, or Northampton. What you’ll be doing

Leading the EA and Technology Strategy, focusing on architecting data and technology solutions aligned with business needs.

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting Nationwide business domains by understanding our data and technology ecosystem and designing suitable solutions.
• Collaborating with Principle Architects to define target data and technology architectures that adhere to our standards and policies.
• Presenting architectures at governance forums such as the Enterprise Architecture Board and Technical Design Authorities.
• Promoting EA and Data methodologies, ensuring conformance to standards and regulations.
• Maintaining architectural artifacts for community use.
• Working with vendors to plan and influence their roadmaps to meet future needs.

About you

The minimum requirements include:

• Experience in large-scale transformation projects involving technologies like SAP S4 HANA, Microsoft Azure, Data Breaks, and API-led architectures.
• Experience with cloud technologies and digital transformation.
• Proven experience as an architect, capable of articulating enterprise benefits and producing architecture artifacts.
• Experience deploying EA and Data frameworks supporting enterprise data and architecture solutions.
• Background in enterprise and data architecture transformation initiatives.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to set and communicate a compelling architectural vision.
• Results-oriented with measurable goals and objectives.
