British American Tobacco UK has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technologist – Modern Oral in Southampton.

The Senior Technologist – Modern Oral primarily executes tasks using laboratory equipment across various projects within the New Categories product development portfolio to support the delivery of products in the R&D pipeline.

This role applies knowledge of lab methodologies and scientific principles to assist senior scientists in completing product development plans, while expanding personal technical expertise in New Category products.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Accountability for delivering assigned activities within the New Categories portfolio.
• Operating laboratory machinery and testing capabilities to contribute to new product testing.
• Understanding workstreams within product development to meet project timelines and launch targets.
• Ensuring methodologies and compliance standards are met using scientific principles.
• Collaborating with senior scientists to enhance technical knowledge, particularly in the chemistry of substances like e-liquids.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Materials Science, Engineering, or related fields.
