Senior Technician WDT

As Senior Technician Walt Disney Theatre, you will oversee the operation, daily set-up and maintenance of the Walt Disney Theatre and WDT team.

You will report to the Technical Production Manager and have on average 6 direct reports.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the WDT Entertainment Technical Team providing training, performance coaching, recognition, and feedback including documented conversations and coachings.
2. Lead all aspects of the daily operation of all WDT technical and stage elements.
3. Partner with Stage Manager to perform emergency abbreviated shows.
4. Partner with Entertainment Leadership Teams regarding emergency abbreviated shows, load ins/outs, new show installs, Cast changeovers, equipment tests, vendor support, movie premieres, company events and safety responsibilities.
5. Provide support services for all Walt Disney Theater events including production shows, variety acts, concerts, and activities.
6. Schedule the WDT Technical Team.
7. Set/strike, oversee and run Senior Technician Show Tracks for all WDT shows.
8. Manage preventative maintenance schedules and routine repairs of WDT technical equipment.
9. Maintain stock control and associated documentation for WDT show consumables.
10. Lead department meetings.

Basic Qualifications:

1. Minimum five year experience in a technical role within a theatrical operation.
2. Experience leading a theater technical team regarding daily responsibilities, performance, scheduling, and development.
3. Expertise with standard theatrical practices in a musical theater environment.
4. Can work at heights with heavy equipment and in environments that have second-hand smoke, pyrotechnics, chemical smoke, haze, fog, dry ice, and other special effects.
5. Experience with Audio Visual and Projection systems, Automation Desks, Stunt Rigging Equipment and Body Harnesses, preferred.

You must:

• Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel.
• Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan.
• Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control.
• If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciate working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations.

Your Responsibilities:

• Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this).
• Complete a pre-employment medical.
• Obtain a criminal background check.
• Bring approved work shoes.
