Digital Communications Officer at Northern Stage Newcastle

This Senior Technician role will work closely with the Technical and Production Team to deliver a range of projects including Northern Stage’s own productions and co-productions, visiting company productions, and a range of commercial and hire events. The role will be responsible for focusing on the sound and AV aspects of visiting company and hire needs, and our own productions and co-productions in support of the Technical Manager.

• Work with creative teams and other members of the Technical Team to realise technical requirements of productions within allocated resources
• Attend technical rehearsals and plot and operate technical equipment safely and competently, as needed to realise the artistic vision of productions
• Assist in the co-ordination, fit up and operation of Northern Stage productions being toured or transferred to other venues
• Provide excellent customer service and technical support to visiting companies and hires, assisting with technical requirements and advising where required
• Deputise for the Technical Manager as needed, and support the administration of the department
• Provide a high level of skill in the day-to-day operations of the technical team
• Plan and undertake maintenance on production equipment
• Devise and deliver training/learning programmes for the Technical Department
• Task, manage and supervise casual and freelance personnel
