Job Details:

• Title: Senior Technician

• Hours: 40 hours per week

The Role:

The Senior Technician provides guidance, mentoring, and support to operational production teams to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of clean drinking water. Responsibilities include technical work on production assets, troubleshooting, developing tactical plans, and supporting the company's safety, quality, and environmental targets.

Critical Performance Objectives:

• Employee engagement, staff retention, and team development.
• Assess team competency per the Competent Operator Scheme.
• Maximize unplanned outage ODI to a maximum reward position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mentor and upskill operational staff.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Develop and maintain procedures, systems, and risk assessments.
• Issue permits to work and liaise with external bodies.
• Work with regional chemists to optimize water quality and efficiency.
• Evaluate staff competency and identify training needs.
• Support project development and capital investment.
• Oversee technical installations (electrical, mechanical, chemical).
• Respond to site and equipment breakdowns, safely restoring plant operation.
• Participate in 24/7 standby rota.

Requirements:

Experience & Knowledge: Electrical, mechanical, and chemical process installation and commissioning; Competent Operator Scheme accreditation; mentoring experience.

Qualifications: HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Confined Space, IOSH Managing Safely, EUSR SHEA/CSCS, Water Hygiene, Electrical testing (C&G Level 3), NVQ Level 3, Water Treatment Operations, Full UK Driving License.
