We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Technician - Electrical division and this role will directly influence decisions to meet SNG's operational and financial goals, performance targets and customer satisfaction standards, in-keeping with best practice.

The role will oversee and support the activities of Workplace Technicians in the management and maintenance of the SNG workplace estate. Ensure delivery at a high level of performance to SLAs and KPIs for internal technician resources.

Job Purpose:

The role will provide technical guidance to technicians for a broad range of civil works.

  1. Act as first point of escalation and support to workplace technicians, providing technical guidance across a broad scope of civil works.
  2. Oversee and support technicians in delivering routine maintenance internally and externally of the offices and buildings.
  3. Liaise with the planned maintenance and compliance coordinator, manage the BAU workload of the technician team ensuring efficient resource deployment and prioritisation of key tasks.
  4. Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems, diagnose and repair electrical issues and carry out installs.
  5. Maintain accurate records and provide detailed reports and certification.
  6. Ensure safe systems of work are in place and to which the technician team adheres.
  7. Assist Workplace Manager - Technical in delivering regular toolbox talks, training and knowledge sharing.
  8. Support the Workplace Manager - Technical to ensure 3rd party contractors are programmed, supervised appropriately and adhere to approved risk assessment method statement (RAMS).
  9. Carry out site and van audits, and quality assurance checks of completed works to ensure high standards and identify further requirements.
  10. Carry out stock checks, ensuring availability of equipment and materials including critical spares. Assist with sourcing quality and value products.
  11. Lead by example and carry out a wide range reactive work, including electrical, joinery, plumbing (non-qualified jobs such as unblocking sinks/toilets etc), internal painting etc to a high standard and within SLA.
  12. Cover for technicians across the team during absence, peak periods or as work requirements dictate.
  13. Ensure that the service has a strong customer focus, with close liaison to Workplace Leads, Service Delivery Manager and key stakeholders.
  14. Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues and contractors to ensure an integrated contribution to SNG's corporate objectives.
  15. Always maintains confidentiality in relation to business sensitive, personal and secure information gained through work.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or training program in electrical installation, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
  2. City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
  3. City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection and Testing).
  4. Previous experience as an electrician, with a portfolio of completed projects.
  5. Ability to be office based and travel between SNG sites as required.
  6. Clear, confident communicator with the ability to communicate effectively.
  7. Team player with an enthusiastic, customer-focussed attitude and proactive approach.
