Job summary
Medical Electronics is a busy department responsible for maintaining medical equipment throughout Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and across Somerset County.
The department provides comprehensive services including routine calibration, maintenance, repair, and management of the Trust's medical equipment.
We are seeking a highly motivated senior technician to join our team. This role supports the critical care areas of Musgrove Park Hospital.
The working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with inclusion on the department's on-call rota following appropriate assessment.
You should have an HNC, Degree in Medical Electronics or Engineering, with knowledge and practical experience of servicing complex medical devices. The ideal candidate will also have significant experience in team management.
This is a senior technical role supporting the critical care areas of Musgrove Park Hospital, as well as other departments and wards as allocated.
As a member of the Medical Electronics Team, you will manage medical equipment effectively and economically for the Trust and community organizations, including fault finding, repair, overhaul, calibration, safety testing, and planned preventative maintenance.
You will work collaboratively with the Medical Electronics team and build relationships with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure service needs are met.
