Job summary

TXM Recruit is seeking an experienced Senior Technician to join an established engineering business in Milton Keynes. This is a hands-on role in a technical engineering and manufacturing environment, supporting the assembly, testing and development of specialist products.

The role covers mechanical and electrical assembly, testing to drawings, and providing support for process improvements while working with Manufacturing and Project Engineers. Monday to Friday, salary £40,000–£44,000.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in an engineering workshop environment.
• Experience in Automotive, Aerospace, Motorsport or similar high‑precision environment.
• Strong mechanical assembly experience.
• Good understanding of electrical systems and testing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly from drawings, build cards and instructions.
• Complete mechanical and electrical testing and measurements.
• Support the development and improvement of build processes.
• Work closely with Manufacturing and Project Engineers.
• Assist with investigations and controlled strip-downs of equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure tooling and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
• Support continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with training and mentoring other technicians.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping.
