An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Technician to join our Engineering Services team at Leicestershire County Council, one of the best performing councils in the country. You will report into Senior Engineers and assist them in the efficient design of multiple Highway construction schemes and maintenance works to achieve delivery within time and cost targets. Responsibilities and Qualifications

• A BTEC Higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification i.e. NVQ4 and be working towards (or willing to work towards) qualification as Engineering Technician (EngTech)
• Experience working in an engineering setting in relation to design, management, maintenance or construction of highways infrastructure.
• Experience of delivering projects and programmes of work to time, quality and cost targets and working collaboratively with key stakeholders ensuring the smooth delivery of project briefs.
• Strong customer focus and able to liaise with customers and clients. Applicants must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Is competent using IT systems (including AutoCAD software) and has strong analytical, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to produce and interpret maps, plans and Engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of current Highways Legislation and design standards.
• You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Leicestershire County Council is the local highway authority for the county, responsible for maintaining 2,575 miles of roads.
