Job summary

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for a highly skilled Lead Cyber Security Specialist to shape the delivery of cyber security in line with legislation, standards and best practice. You will drive security improvements across programmes and advise IT projects on secure solutions.

You will monitor, detect, analyse and respond to incidents, maintain and protect key business assets, and help deliver the Council's cyber security strategy while supporting audits and reviews.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in designing and managing cyber security solutions.
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks and incident response.
• Ability to lead security projects and audits.

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled individual who will be responsible for shaping the delivery of cyber security in line with associated legislation, standards and best practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and protecting the key business assets from threats and risks by monitoring, detecting, analysing, and responding to security incidents.
As Lead Cyber Security Specialist, you'll drive and deliver security initiatives to manage and improve our overall cyber security capability. You'll have the ability to co-ordinate and manage a variety of sources of information and produce action plans, security certification submissions and be able to develop and provide a dynamic monitoring and incident response capability for the business.
You will provide expert advice and support on security architecture across projects and programmes to help to build more collaborative and constructive relationships.
In addition to this you will provide technical expertise to advise and guide IT projects to deliver secure solutions which meet our compliance and business standard requirements.
You'll work closely with senior management and be integral to helping deliver the Council's cyber security strategy along with assisting in the management of security audits and reviews.
You will have extensive experience in the design and overall management of cyber security solutions and processes.
The right candidate will have strong up to date cyber security knowledge and qualifications and be able to manage conflicting priorities and deadlines.
