Job description

We re supporting a UK-based technology supplier in their search for a Technical Solutions Advisor. This position is a key part of a small, specialist team providing expert support to a national network of custom installers and AV integration professionals.

This is a varied and hands-on technical role, ideal for someone with experience in smart home technology, control systems, AV distribution, or IP networking. You ll provide remote and occasional on-site support, deliver training, assist with technical documentation, and contribute to product demos and events.

What You ll Be Doing:

  • Act as a main point of contact for technical queries from installation partners and resellers
  • Troubleshoot system and configuration issues remotely (including over screen share)
  • Log and manage service calls using internal systems
  • Organize and dispatch advanced replacements when needed, coordinating with suppliers and tracking returns
  • Liaise with manufacturers and vendors for deeper technical resolution or warranty handling
  • Deliver product training to integrators and support in-house learning initiatives
  • Support the setup and upkeep of demo facilities and contribute to exhibition and event support
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to provide technical input on written materials and campaigns
  • Keep up-to-date records in CRM/ERP systems and manage documentation around returns and replacements
  • Contribute to the wider team s goals with professionalism, initiative, and attention to detail

What We re Looking For:
  • Previous experience in a technical support or solutions-focused role (ideally in AV, smart tech, or IT)
  • Solid understanding of home automation, AV distribution, lighting control, or networking fundamentals
  • Excellent communication skills, both with internal teams and external partners
  • Comfortable using support tools like screen sharing and CRM systems
  • Well-organized, solutions-oriented, and confident working independently
  • Able to deliver structured technical training sessions (prior experience a bonus)
  • Familiarity with ERP tools such as SAP is desirable but not essential
