Job description

Join one of the UK’s most respected construction contractors, celebrating 30 years of excellence. Known for delivering across commercial, retail, education, and leisure sectors, they focus on quality, client satisfaction, and enduring partnerships.

They are seeking a Senior Technical Services Manager to oversee a £25M MEP package on a £60M Grade II listed commercial fit-out project in London. This leadership role involves managing all aspects of building services from pre-construction to commissioning and handover, acting as the technical authority on MEP matters.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the MEP strategy, overseeing design, installation, commissioning, and quality assurance.
2. Coordinate with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
3. Chair MEP coordination meetings and ensure technical compliance.
4. Review and approve technical submissions, shop drawings, and manuals.
5. Manage the MEP programme, aligning with project milestones.
6. Support procurement through technical evaluations and tender reviews.
7. Lead commissioning activities, including testing and handover protocols.
8. Control change management and technical RFIs.
9. Mentor site-based technical teams and supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Building Services.
2. Over 10 years’ experience in MEP project delivery, preferably with a main contractor on complex refurbishments or high-end fit-outs.
3. Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Public Health, and BMS systems.
4. Experience with MEP coordination in heritage or listed buildings.
5. Proven success in pre-construction, commissioning, and project handover phases.
6. Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Certifications (Advantageous but Not Essential)

1. CIBSE or IET Membership / Chartered Engineer status.
2. SMSTS / CSCS Black Card / First Aid Certification.
3. Experience with BIM tools like Revit, Navisworks, Asta, or MS Project.
4. Experience on high-profile, innovative projects.
