Job summary

British Land is seeking a Technical Services Manager in London. Hybrid role with 4 days in office, delivering safe, efficient and sustainable operation of a prestigious mixed-use estate.

You will lead building services, engage with occupiers and service partners, and drive continuous improvement across engineering and compliance domains. You will oversee permit-to-work processes, audits, and data reporting, while influencing capital improvements and environmental initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering technical building services within commercial/mixed-use environments.
• Leadership of engineering operations, maintenance programmes and critical building systems.
• Financial awareness including budget management.
• Managing third-party service providers and contractors to drive performance.
• Knowledge of building compliance, health and safety legislation, risk management, and statutory inspections.
• Excellent communication to build relationships with occupiers, suppliers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and continuity of critical building services.
• Coordinate with occupiers, service partners and internal stakeholders to drive operational excellence.
• Ensure compliance and data reporting for the asset.
• Influence major improvements, sustainability and capital projects.
• Own contractor performance, audits, and maintenance planning.
• Monitor plant operation and response during shutdowns or emergencies.
