Job title: Senior Technical Sales engineer, IT Systems
Reporting to: Application Engineering Manager, IT Systems

Role Statement

  • Deliver technical support and training to our valued customers and Sales teams in the region, ensuring a deep understanding of IT Systems products and solutions.
  • Take a leading technical role in complex Multi-Line of Business projects, collaborating seamlessly with Application Engineering teams from other business units.
  • Identify, support, and coordinate third-party suppliers for technical solutions in Multi LOB projects, helping to enhance our offerings and bridge solution gaps.
  • Empower Sales teams with pre-sales technical support for proposals, quotes, and tenders, ensuring customer needs are fully addressed.
  • Offer technical expertise for medium-sized projects and strategic accounts across EMEA and worldwide, collaborating closely with sales professionals.
  • Develop innovative and cost-effective applications for IT Systems products, creatively addressing customer requirements when standard products may not be suitable.
  • Organize and host engaging events to showcase Vertiv products and technologies, connecting with audiences of all technical backgrounds.
  • Collaborate closely with consultants to understand their unique needs and develop effective solutions together.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership in IT and Edge solutions, reviewing, modifying, and designing alternative approaches when standard offerings do not meet requirements, together with the LOB engineering team.
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a collaborative environment for learning and professional growth in specialized areas.
  • Exhibit strong technical leadership and serve as a clear role model in managing IT Systems projects.

Key Duties

  • Cultivate and manage relationships between Sales teams and the Line of Business, fostering collaboration and mutual success.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted adviser, building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and consultants throughout EMEA and globally.
  • Participate in customer meetings alongside Sales Managers as a technical authority, providing valuable insights and guidance.
  • Create engaging product and application presentations for customers and consultants, showcasing our solutions and expertise.
  • Regularly visit consultants, nurture relationships, and collaborate in developing effective solutions to their challenges.
  • Provide technical training for sales teams and customers to enhance their knowledge and capabilities.
  • Organize and host impactful events and webcasts showcasing Vertiv products and technologies, connecting with diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Sales teams to provide feedback on current products and offer valuable input for new product development.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and competitor activities to ensure our offerings remain competitive and relevant.
  • Continuously develop your knowledge and expertise in IT SYSTEMS solutions, contributing to our innovative and forward-thinking team.

Job Requirements - Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, electronics, telecommunication, or computer systems) is required. This foundation equips you with the essential technical knowledge for excelling in our innovative environment.
  • Professional Experience: We are seeking candidates with a robust background in IT SYSTEMS products and installations, with a particular emphasis on Data Center environments or equivalent. A minimum of 8 years of hands‑on experience is necessary to thrive in this dynamic role.
  • Additional Expertise: Experience in Thermal and Power systems, especially within Data Center environments or comparable sectors, is highly valued and will enhance your contributions to our team.
  • Relevant Industry Experience: Demonstrated success in adjacent markets and similar positions is a significant advantage and will be recognized as a key asset in your application.
