Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm is seeking two Senior Technical Safety Engineers for a long-term contract in Basingstoke, offering the flexibility to work from home 12 days per month. The role involves engineering analysis, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with safety standards in projects related to onshore/offshore oil and gas production facilities. Ideal candidates will have a relevant engineering degree and chartered status.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline accredited by a chartered engineering institute.
  • Chartered Engineer status or certified process safety practitioner preferred.
  • Knowledge of company tools and standards is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake analysis, calculations, and engineering studies related to technical safety.
  • Supervise activities of subordinate staff to ensure standards are met.
  • Check and approve documents and drawings produced by others.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on safety design requirements.
  • Coordinate interfaces with other disciplines.

Are you looking for a contract that offers long-term work, flexibility to work from home over 50% of the time, and the opportunity to work on exciting projects? This role is for you.

We are seeking 2 Senior Technical Safety Engineers to support a leading Oil & Gas company on a long-term contract based in Basingstoke. Projects will range from Feasibility phase through Basic Design and FEED, involving onshore/offshore oil/gas production facilities, with a focus on LNG and renewable energy facilities.

The main responsibilities include:

  1. Undertaking analysis, calculations, and engineering studies related to technical safety, producing deliverables in accordance with company standards, procedures, and international codes.
  2. Supervising activities of subordinate staff to ensure standards and schedules are met.
  3. Checking and approving documents and drawings produced by others.
  4. Providing technical support and guidance on safety design requirements.
  5. Coordinating interfaces with other disciplines.
  6. Participating in the development of company standards and procedures.
  7. Assisting in estimating man-hours and planning for proposals and projects.
  8. Keeping abreast of technological developments and standards.
  9. Participating in safety reviews such as HAZID, HAZOP, and SIL assessments.

Candidate qualifications, experience, and skills include:

  1. A degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as Chemical Engineering, accredited by a chartered engineering institute (e.g., IChemE).
  2. Chartered Engineer status or certified process safety practitioner preferred.
  3. Knowledge of company tools and standards is advantageous.
