THE ROLE

The BBC is making the shift from being a broadcaster that speaks to our audiences to being a service that is shaped by them. To achieve this mission of being a Digital First BBC, we are building a data organisation which will lead cultural and organisational change.

The Data Operations team is newly established with a comprehensive, Pan-BBC mandate. Their mission is to foster an agile mindset, implement effective ways of working, and drive operational excellence in data across the BBC.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will be an Expert Individual Contributor reporting into our Data Operations Lead. You will be accountable for the planning, delivery, and overall day-to-day coordination of a portfolio of workstreams that underpin our Pan-BBC Data Strategy.

1. Lead delivery of various projects, PoC’s and initiatives around Generative AI, Intelligent Process Automation (IPA), Blockchain & other ‘Next Gen’ technologies.
2. Lead various initiatives across the Data Strategy portfolio, managing the end-to-end delivery process.
3. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting transparency, collaboration, and innovation.
4. Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and impediments.
5. Champion agile best practices, providing coaching and mentorship to teams and individuals.
6. Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to align on project priorities and timelines.
