Microsoft has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the international Azure Platform Operations Sovereign team focused on operations support and integration between Sovereign and public clouds.

The Azure Platform Operations Team supports hyperscale cloud services worldwide, including Sovereign clouds for complex regulated customers.

Azure seeks a talented, highly motivated individual to drive the operational model for the Sovereign cloud, working closely with stakeholders and Azure Global Leadership to ensure successful delivery and interface with customer needs.

This role offers an opportunity to leverage your understanding of Azure, Microsoft services, and technical approaches to develop and evolve Azure's cloud operations strategy.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Understanding of the challenges of system and service management.
• Multiple years of hands-on experience supporting complex IT environments.
• Experience with large distributed IT environments in an operational role.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive service support experience.
• Problem solving and analysis skills in distributed systems and critical production environments.
• ITIL certification V3 or above.
• Experience with DevOps lifecycle.
• PMP / Agile PM certification or experience in agile projects.
• Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or other Cloud Certifications.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Responsibilities

As an Operations PM, you will:

• Design and support incident management workflows across cloud boundaries, ensuring security and efficiency. Coordinate with Azure Public and Sovereign Service teams.
• Provide knowledge management, operations training, and leadership. Develop monitoring and system management solutions. Drive continuous service improvement.
• Lead cloud excellence initiatives, ensuring compliance and reducing operational costs. Validate use-cases and performance targets, and improve delivery quality.
• Build relationships and drive orchestration and integration efforts for large, complex projects with internal teams and external partners.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to contribute to and prioritize the roadmap.
• Track, coordinate, and communicate project schedules across multiple feature areas.
• Manage program governance to meet performance standards throughout the development lifecycle.
