Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience developing and deploying complex software stacks from bootloaders to rich OS or RTOS deployments.
• Experience defining technical requirements, architectures, or roadmaps for customer-facing embedded software solutions.
• Strong cross-functional communication and dependency management skills.
• Experience with FPGA-based devices (AMD Adaptive Zynq/Versal) and embedded x86 (Ryzen Embedded).
• Experience with Physical AI, robotics, industrial automation, autonomous systems, computer vision, AI/ML deployment, or edge AI software frameworks is highly desirable.

AMD's Adaptive Embedded Compute Group (AECG) builds products that blend powerful, energy-efficient processors, advanced neural engines and graphics processors, and adaptive embedded compute with programmable logic to build edge computing solutions. THE PERSON

AMD's AECG group is looking for a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer / Principal Technical Marketing Engineer to drive the embedded software strategy, silicon feature enablement, and ecosystem alignment for the Embedded Software stack across both the AMD Adaptive (formerly Xilinx) and x86 product families.

This role requires deep technical expertise across embedded software, system architecture, and customer solution development, with a particular focus on Physical AI, robotics, edge AI, and intelligent autonomous systems. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, product management, marketing, ecosystem partners, and strategic customers to help shape AMD's software and platform strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with marketing colleagues to understand the silicon enablement roadmap and provide feedback and guidance about the required software components to make the silicon families successful.
• Work with engineering teams to establish and maintain deliverable roadmaps with a focus on early enablement for key embedded and Physical AI customers.
• Define, align and promote strategic requirements for all software stack components such as bootloaders, Linux OS, Zephyr RTOS, and middleware such as Xen Hypervisor and OpenAMP.
• Align embedded software requirements for all Physical AI solution components including virtualization, Yocto Project Linux support for embedded ROCm, robotics frameworks, AI inference runtimes, and autonomous system software stacks.
• Work with AECG technical marketing and field support teams to deliver timely demonstrations, reference designs, examples and technical content that accelerate customer adoption.
• Engage directly with strategic customers, ecosystem partners, and open-source communities to understand market requirements, identify technology gaps, and influence AMD's software roadmap.
• Serve as a technical subject matter expert for embedded software, robotics, edge AI, and Physical AI solutions across AMD Adaptive and x86 platforms.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience developing and deploying complex software stacks that include bootloaders through rich application OS and/or RTOS deployments.
• Experience defining technical requirements, architectures, or roadmaps for customer-facing embedded software solutions.
• Strong cross-functional communication and dependency management skills.
• Experience in software engineering architecture, software integration, platform enablement, or program planning.
• Experience working with FPGA-based devices such as AMD Adaptive devices including Zynq-7000, Zynq UltraScale+, Versal ACAP, or similar competing products.
• Experience working with embedded x86 devices such as AMD Ryzen Embedded 8000 Series, AMD EPYC Embedded 7000 Series, or similar competing products.
• Experience with Physical AI, robotics, industrial automation, autonomous systems, computer vision, AI/ML deployment, or edge AI software frameworks is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with robotics and Physical AI technologies such as ROS/ROS2, Gazebo, containerized deployment workflows, edge AI frameworks, and heterogeneous computing platforms is a plus.
