Location: Multi Sites (Furness Vale / Rochdale / Bradford)

Salary: c£65k (Negotiable - depending on experience) OTE £80k inc. car allowance + benefits

The Group is a long-established leader in plastics manufacturing, a family-run business with a passion for what they do!

Operating from multiple sites in the North-West, they are on a journey of continuous improvement, including enhancing manufacturing processes with automation.

They are seeking a Senior Technical Manager to provide departmental leadership and drive technical innovation.

The Role

Reporting to the Group MD, this new role provides leadership and strategic direction in the technical department, bridging sales and production, driving innovation, and ensuring high-quality product delivery.

You will manage, mentor, and develop the project engineering team, oversee the entire technical project lifecycle from customer enquiry to post-production support, and communicate design requirements effectively.

Additionally, you will explore new manufacturing technologies and establish systems to track workload, project status, and KPIs.

Skills And Qualifications

Strong project management skills, experience in plastics manufacturing, automation knowledge (robotic cells, CNC routers), and experience with rotational moulding, metal fabrication, or process development are required.

Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities are essential. Professional certifications like Project Management or Lean Manufacturing are advantageous.

Key qualities include being a natural leader, strategic thinker, excellent communicator, process-driven, proactive, problem solver, resilient, and accountable.
