Job summary

Optima UK Inc. in Hinckley, Leicestershire, is seeking a technically strong designer to turn client briefs into production-ready SolidWorks models and drawings for bespoke furniture and joinery.

You will work with production, procurement and project teams to ensure buildability, manage BOMs, specify materials, and deliver accurate, manufacturable designs across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Strong experience using SolidWorks in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience producing detailed technical drawings for manufacture.
• Experience creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Exposure to ERP systems and supplier coordination is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models and technical drawings in SolidWorks for bespoke furniture and joinery.
• Develop manufacture-ready designs with full construction detail and assembly solutions.
• Produce and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are feasible and efficient to manufacture.
• Interpret client briefs and translate concepts into practical technical solutions.
• Specify materials, finishes, and components.
• Support procurement with supplier specifications and material choices.
• Maintain drawing standards, revisions, and documentation.
• Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
