Job summary

Rheinmetall is seeking an experienced Technical Buyer to join our procurement team in the UK. The role focuses on sourcing and purchasing specialised technical components, raw materials and sub-assemblies for electronics manufacturing, working with Engineering, Quality and Project Management to meet form, fit and function requirements.

You will evaluate suppliers on technical capability and quality, manage supplier performance with traceability and conformity, and support NPI and engineering

Qualifications

• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and manufacturing documentation.
• Familiarity with regulatory and certification requirements.
• Experience with ERP/purchasing systems in fast-paced technical environments.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and data analysis.
• Experience with PCB, CNC, sheet metal, cameras and sensors is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and BOMs to source correct components and support NPI/prototyping.
• Evaluate suppliers by technical capability, quality certifications and reliability.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure supplier adherence to standards.
• Manage supplier relationships with focus on traceability and conformity.
• Source and procure materials, precision components, machined parts, composites and services.
• Monitor supplier performance using OTIF, concession rates and audit outcomes.
• Ensure robust contracts to hold suppliers accountable for performance.
• Contribute to cost savings and value engineering.
• Support compliance metrics and reduction of non-conformances.
