Job summary

IT Recruitment Solutions in Warrington is seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to own complex software requirements from discovery to release. You will work with clients across construction, infrastructure, utilities, logistics and project controls, turning ambiguous problems into robust specifications.

You’ll run discovery sessions, define requirements, and produce detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings and functional specs.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering software or digital products as a Technical BA or Systems Analyst.
• Excellent requirements gathering and specification skills from client to dev team.
• Hands-on experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with APIs, integrations, interfaces, and data mapping.
• Strong client-facing skills including workshops and scope discussions.
• Experience supporting software through development, testing, UAT and release.
• Experience working directly with software development teams.
• Experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, logistics would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

Job description

Senior Technical Business Analyst required for a thriving specialist consultancy, to take ownership of complex software requirements from initial discovery through to development, testing and release. This will see you working with clients in construction, infrastructure, utilities, logistics, supply chain and project controls, so it would be great if you come from these domains!

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take an ambiguous business problem and turn it into a detailed, technically robust specification that developers can actually build from. You’ll work directly with clients, product stakeholders and engineering teams across complex digital projects. You will also have the opportunity to hire and grow your own team over time, as the company continues its healthy growth trajectory.

As a Senior Technical Business Analyst, you’ll run discovery sessions, define requirements and produce detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, data mappings and functional specifications. You’ll also work closely with developers on APIs, integrations, interfaces and data flows while maintaining requirements through delivery.

You’ll have genuine ownership rather than simply documenting decisions made elsewhere. That includes challenging unclear requirements, keeping work sprint-ready, managing scope and change, supporting testing and helping resolve defects.

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst, or a Customer Systems Analyst, or perhaps a Technical Product Owner with:

• Strong experience delivering software or digital products as a Technical BA, Systems Analyst or similar
• Excellent requirements gathering and specification skills - from client / customer, to internal dev team
• Hands-on experience writing user stories and detailed acceptance criteria is essential
• Experience with APIs, integrations, interfaces and data mapping
• Strong client-facing skills including workshops, scope discussions and requirements sign-off
• Experience supporting software through development, testing, UAT and release
• Experience working directly with software development teams
• Working with clients in construction, infrastructure, utilities, logistics, supply chain or project controls would be highly beneficial

This would suit a Senior Technical Business Analyst who enjoys getting into the detail rather than operating purely at stakeholder or process level. You’ll also have the opportunity to influence how business analysis is done across the organisation as the team and project portfolio grow.

The company are based in Warrington and you'd ideally work on a hybrid basis (2-3 days in the office) however this can be flexible depending on circumstances, and there is a competitive salary depending on experience.
