Senior Technical Animator (Cosmetics) | North America | Europe | Fully Remote

What we are looking for:
As a Senior Technical Animator, you will be responsible for breathing life into cosmetics for characters and props, leveraging rigging, runtime physics simulations, and procedural animation techniques in Unreal Engine. Working closely with the animation and design teams, you will help develop best practices to create amazing characters that scale efficiently across various platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Create dynamic character rigs and develop processes and pipelines to improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure assets meet creative and technical standards
  • Develop and implement animation blueprints, simulation systems, secondary motion systems for characters and props
  • Work with animation and tech art teams to troubleshoot and debug animation issues
  • Optimize assets for performance across multiple platforms
  • Document techniques and workflows; mentor team members to enhance their skills

Qualifications:

  • Expertise with rigging and animation tools such as Maya
  • Extensive experience with Unreal Engine's animation and rigging systems, including RigidBodies, Cloth, Anim Nodes, Control Rig
  • Knowledge of creating efficient, scalable runtime characters and props
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and optimizing animation systems
  • Ability to research and develop new techniques and approaches
  • Strong leadership, communication, and task management skills
  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python) is a plus
  • Experience with cross-platform game development
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, growth mindset, and ability to work independently
