Job summary

Ubisoft is seeking a Senior Technical Animator for the Rainbow Six brand to design and build rigging systems that bring high-quality assets to life. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure authentic character motion and a cohesive visual identity across features.

You will mentor Animators and Riggers, translate mock-ups into polished visuals, and contribute to the studio's leadership in AAA games.

Qualifications

  • A portfolio/showreel consisting of Character Rigging, ideally with deformation and scene structures.
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard 3D software, such as 3DS Max or Maya.
  • 3D Modelling experience.
  • Ability to mentor Artists and Animators.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ideally, experienced in a full development life-cycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build rigging systems that support the creation of high-quality assets.
  • Ensure cohesive visual style across features with a focus on gameplay character elements (skinning, physics, modelling).
  • Translate mock-ups into high-quality integrated visualisations to guide production.
  • Inspire and guide the wider art team through feedback and collaboration.
  • Mentor fellow Animators & Riggers and collaborate across disciplines.

As a Senior Technical Animator on theRainbow Sixbrand, you'll play a key role in designing and building rigging systems that support the creation of a variety of high-quality assets. Your technical proficiency with character aesthetics will bring immersive, authentic worlds to life. You're adaptable, thrive on creative challenges, and take pride in shaping the visual identity of realistic AAA games through thoughtful animation systems.

Working closely with multidisciplinary team members, you'll ensure a cohesive visual style across features, with a core focus on gameplay character elements, such as skinning, physics, and modelling. Your ability to translate mock-ups into high-quality integrated visualisations will help guide production and inspire the wider art team. You're passionate about your craft and committed to continuous improvement. From conducting in-depth research to participating in peer reviews, you actively seek and provide constructive feedback to elevate the team's artistic output.
