Job summary

Zopa is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join our growing Finance function in London. You’ll provide technical accounting support for new products, initiatives and audits, and contribute to horizon scanning and policy development.

You’ll work with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business, build strong relationships, and help automate the production of the annual report while embracing AI to improve processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with post-qualification experience.
• Experience in financial services, banking or consumer finance, or FS tech advisory.
• Solid working knowledge of IFRS as it applies to FS products and transactions.
• Strong written communication, able to draft technical accounting papers for non-accountants.
• Ability to drive changes to systems and processes to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Carry out technical accounting assessments for new transactions, products and significant contracts; draft memos.
• Own parts of the annual report and accounts and coordinate sections across Finance.
• Manage stakeholders and give practical technical accounting advice to teams.
• Develop, implement and maintain accounting policies and manuals; apply policies across the business.
