Job Description:

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution rooted in the Liverpool City Region with a global presence. Our students and staff are central to our community, shaping the city and supporting local and international industries. Our mission is to work with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and foster community development.

The School of Law and Justice Studies at LJMU combines academic excellence with practical legal training. It offers a range of programs including LLB, LLM, LPC, and SQE, with adaptations for new qualification routes under the SQE.

The Legal Advice Centre provides experiential learning opportunities for students, integrated into both undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. The School hosts the Centre for the Study of Law in Theory and Practice (LTAP), with research strengths in Public International Law, Human Rights, European Law, International Criminal Law, and Banking Regulation. The School has successfully submitted to the REF 2014 and 2021.

As a Senior Teaching Fellow in Law, you will work closely with students preparing for SQE and other legal exams and training programs. Your responsibilities include teaching professional programs (LPC and SQE) and other courses within the School, as determined by the Director.

Preferred teaching areas include Business and Commercial Law and/or Employment Law. You will also contribute to teaching key legal skills such as client interviewing, case analysis, legal research, legal writing, drafting, and advocacy.

We offer an excellent benefits package, including generous leave, pension scheme, induction and development support, and family-friendly policies.

This role aligns with LJMU's Strategy 2030, aiming to be an inclusive civic university that transforms lives.
