Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is recruiting a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant for Nancealverne School, a special school serving pupils aged 3 to 19 with learning needs. The role involves supporting pupils alongside teachers and multi-agency professionals, including personal care and behaviour management.

Training in safeguarding, Team Teach, epilepsy and feeding protocols is provided; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Warm, empathetic approach to pupils and colleagues.
• Ability to work well as part of a team and adapt to a multi-agency environment.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with class teachers, support staff and multi-agency professionals.
• Meet the diverse needs of pupils across the school day.
• Provide personal care to pupils.
• Support pupils with physical needs and help manage challenging behaviour.
