Reed in Wilmslow is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead a broad advisory remit for owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and private clients. Based in the UK, you’ll own complex advisory assignments and help shape the firm’s tax offering with a clear progression path to Tax Director.

The role requires strong UK tax advisory experience within a practice, commercial mindset and the ability to manage senior client relationships. A CTA/CTT or strong QBE candidates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a varied portfolio of tax advisory projects across a broad range of taxes.
• Provide commercially focused advice to owner-managed businesses, shareholders, entrepreneurs and private clients.
• Advise on corporate tax, personal tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, restructuring and succession planning.
• Manage complex tax planning assignments from initial consultation through to implementation.
• Identify advisory opportunities within the existing client portfolio.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and act as a senior point of contact.
• Work closely with Partners and Directors on technically complex and high-value assignments.
• Support and develop more junior members of the tax team.
• Contribute to the continued development and growth of the firm's wider tax advisory offering.
• Take an increasingly strategic role within the department as you progress towards Director level

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join a progressive accountancy practice in Wilmslow.

This is a senior appointment within the tax team, suited to someone with strong tax advisory experience across multiple areas of tax who enjoys working closely with owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and private clients.

The role offers genuine long-term progression, with a clear succession plan towards Tax Director for the right individual. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of complex advisory work, develop client relationships and play an influential role in the continued growth of the tax offering.

Key Responsibilities

About You

The successful candidate is likely to have:

• Strong experience within UK tax advisory gained within a UK accountancy practice
• Broad knowledge across multiple areas of tax
• Experience providing commercial, solutions-led tax advice to clients
• Strong technical knowledge combined with the ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly
• Confidence managing senior client relationships and leading advisory assignments
• An interest in progressing into a Tax Director / leadership position
• CTA / CTT qualification would be advantageous, although experienced QBE candidates open for consideration
• Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities to add value to clients
