CareerWise Recruitment is supporting a growing Tech company in finding a Senior Tax and Audit Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a fully remote role, reporting directly to the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will support activities for a publicly listed, rapidly growing software company with expanding international operations. Below are the responsibilities and some requirements for the role.

Role of this position

1. Ensure compliance with all tax obligations including Transfer Pricing, Corporation Tax, VAT, Sales Taxes, etc., and timely reporting.
2. Liaise with external tax advisors to stay updated on relevant tax legislation amendments and assess their impact on the business, systems, and procedures.
3. Support tax planning initiatives and collaborate with external advisors to prepare transfer pricing documentation, ensuring compliance with legislation.
4. Analyze VAT, sales taxes, and other tax requirements arising from customer contracts.
5. Provide support to all business areas on tax-related matters.
6. Prepare group annual and local entity tax returns, liaising with external advisors to ensure timely submission within tight deadlines.
7. Assist in preparing R&D tax credit claims, ensuring documentation is complete, audit-ready, and compliant with regulations.
8. Develop and lead the internal audit strategy, coordinating with external consultants for compliance.
9. Lead external audits to ensure they are completed accurately and on time.
10. Liaise with stakeholders as needed.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

1. Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
2. Tax (AITI) or similar qualification is preferable.
3. 5+ years of PQE, preferably including tax experience.
4. High proficiency in Excel; familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications and Power BI is advantageous.
5. Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in numerical and written work.
6. Positive, self-motivated individual with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
7. Experience in a public company is beneficial.
8. Experience with NetSuite is desirable but not required.
