Senior Tax Analyst - Tax Calc Serv, Tax Engine

DESCRIPTION

Amazon seeks a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Global Tax Calculation Services Program (Tax Engine). The Tax Engine is comprised of tax professionals and software engineers responsible for providing end-to-end global transaction tax calculation solutions, including sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, goods and services taxes, and other consumption taxes, to Amazon and thousands of merchants selling on Amazon marketplaces.

This position primarily focuses on North America, with potential opportunities for broader exposure to transaction taxes in other regions.

Primary job duties include:

1. On-board new use cases and businesses to the Tax Engine;
2. Draft technical requirements for taxpayer registrations, tax rules, tax reporting, and testing;
3. Research and implement changes/efficiencies to the Tax Engine;
4. Collaborate with commerce platform teams to advise and configure Tax Engine services;
5. Manage product administration and maintenance of Tax Engine applications and processes;
6. Own projects throughout their lifecycle, focusing on requirements execution, solution design, and end-to-end testing;
7. Handle tax escalations and resolutions;
8. Work with commerce platform teams to configure systems based on tax guidance and research;
9. Engage in program management, including creating, improving, and maintaining processes;

This position is based in the EU.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications
• Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience maintaining and operating transaction tax calculation software (e.g., Vertex)
