Job summary

Resourcing Group is supporting a leading Scottish law firm in Edinburgh to recruit a Senior Tax Advisor for the Private Client team. You will provide tax and succession advice across private client matters, including landed estates, trusts, executries, and high-net-worth families, working with partners and senior colleagues.

The role emphasizes building trusted client relationships, delivering clear, practical advice, and contributing to growth.

Qualifications

• ATT or CTA qualified, or qualified by experience.
• At least five years practical tax advisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of personal tax, succession planning, trust and executry taxation.
• Experience advising on Inheritance Tax, including Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief.
• Understanding of tax compliance procedures.
• Experience advising on tax aspects of land transactions and heritable property.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex matters clearly to clients and colleagues.
• A proactive, collaborative and client-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist tax and succession planning advice to a wide range of private clients, including landed estates, rural businesses, trusts, executries and high-net-worth families.
• Advise on personal tax, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax, trusts and executry taxation.
• Support clients with succession planning matters, including advice relating to Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief.
• Advise on the tax aspects of land transactions and heritable property matters.
• Work closely with partners and senior colleagues to deliver high-quality technical advice and excellent client service.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, communicating complex tax matters clearly and commercially.
• Contribute to business development activity, internal training and cross-service line referral opportunities.
