UK remote - Full time.
Join our team at Terex and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Tax Accountant to join the Corporate Tax team.
Position summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic Corporate Tax team. This remote and flexible role is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is eager to grow their career in a European-focused tax environment. The role covers tax operations across 10 jurisdictions, predominantly in Europe, and involves overseeing tax filings and reconciliations rather than hands-on preparation.
This position is ideal for a candidate with strong UK accounting and tax experience who is also interested in broadening their exposure to international tax. You’ll play a key role in the coordination of tax compliance, reporting, reconciliations, and project support across multiple countries, working closely with local finance teams and the Global Business Services centre (GBS).
Working within the corporate Tax team, this role will involve the US and UK cyclical corporate tax compliance process for companies across Europe. The successful candidate will work alongside the Corporate Tax Manager, local finance teams, and the Global Business Service centre (“GBS”) to ensure accuracy and timely reporting of US and UK compliance.
What you’ll do
- Manage quarterly US tax workbooks and Tax provision reporting for European entities using OneSource Tax Provision software.
- Oversee the coordination and timely submission of corporate tax filings across 10 European jurisdictions.
- Coordinate the preparation of corporate tax returns, primarily by external providers or local finance teams, and oversee their accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare tax return to accrual analysis for inclusion in the US tax workbooks.
- Calculate tax instalment payments for the European group.
- Ensure compliance with SOX, standardized procedures, and internal controls.
- Responsible for routine administration of tax compliance processes, including making all appropriate claims and elections within required time limits.
- Review fixed asset registers, CapEx, and Revenue spend for possible tax savings and correct identification.
- Collaborate with global mobility, payroll, and HR teams on employment tax reporting requirements such as PSAs and share-based compensation.
- Support project-based work related to tax process improvements, restructurings, and cross-border planning.
- Engage in regular correspondence with tax authorities and assist with managing audits as required.
- Identify process efficiencies and help implement automation or best practices in tax operations.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) – essential.
- Solid accounting experience (more critical than direct tax experience).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn and grow in a diverse, international tax environment.
Desirable Criteria
- 2-3 years of experience in a Corporate Tax role.
