Senior Tax Accountant – Surbiton, Surrey – £45k-£55k – 4 or 5 day week available

We’re on the hunt for a qualified / part qualified Tax Accountant , with experience in both Personal and Corporate/Business Tax, to join a successful accountancy practice near Surbiton, Surrey.

The Tax Accountant will enjoy working in a ‘hands-on’ role across areas of taxation which include Corporation Tax, IFT, Capital Gains and VAT.

This office based role would suit solution-focused individuals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enable long-term commercial relationships to be developed with their own client portfolio.

Ideally, you will be ATT qualified, but Tax Accountant who are ACA or ACCA qualified or part qualified, or QBE, will also be considered.

Key responsibilities as the Senior Tax Accountant will include:

• Advising small and medium-sized businesses and entrepreneurs on corporate and business taxes (R&D, EIS, EMI share option schemes, sales and reconstructions and the extraction of profits)
• Advising individuals and trusts on private client matters (estate planning, inheritance tax, capital gains tax, property matters and pensions etc)
• Providing a professional, personable and approachable service to all clients
• Regular liaison with all clients, building solid, long-lasting relationships
• Responding to queries and ensuring they are resolved promptly and professionally
• Researching and supporting new business opportunities
• Maintaining all client records
• Supporting members of the accounts team as required

What we’re looking for:

• Relevant accounting qualifications or QBE (ATT, ACA or ACCA)
• Experience working in a busy, fast-paced accountancy practice
• Experience with a variety of billing methods
• Exceptional knowledge of corporate and business tax
• Strong knowledge of trusts, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and pensions
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster excellent relationships with clients
• IT literate with experience using relevant accountancy software
• Impeccable attention to detail and accuracy
• Collaborative, professional and proactive nature
• Commercially focused and eager too grow the role / business
• Happy to work in an office based role
