Job summary

Network Rail is seeking a Senior Project Engineer (Systems) to lead safe design and development of NPR infrastructure across early project lifecycle. You will work with CEMs and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with legislation, standards and client requirements, delivering on time and within budget.

The role supports flexible working up to 40% home-based and can be based in Manchester or York, with several NPR projects across the North of England.

Qualifications

• Significant engineering experience across multi-discipline projects.
• Technical qualifications to at least HNC level or equivalent in civil, mechanical, or systems engineering.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution (RailEI, ICE, IMechE, IET).
• Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

• Implement NR systems and procedures to deliver cost-effective, safe design, construction, commissioning and other activities.
• Monitor competence of project engineers and provide guidance and direction.
• Ensure design and construction meet Railway Group and NR standards and CDM regulations.
• Support audits of consultants and progress safety and quality.
