Graphcore in Bristol is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to advance performance and reliability of large Linux clusters. You will design workloads, run experiments across racks, and help decide what is good enough for production.

You will apply Python, CI/CD tooling, and measurement-driven methods on distributed systems, with opportunities to work with Docker, Kubernetes, and HPC environments. Flexible working and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Significant practical software engineering experience across multiple projects.
• Experience in Linux-based environments, ideally with distributed or high-performance systems.
• Proficiency in Python and automation/CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Ability to design, implement, and run experiments or tests that produce meaningful results.
• Ability to interpret results and communicate findings clearly for decision-making.

• Expand measurement coverage from small clusters to full racks.
• Design workloads that expose system behavior.
• Build systems to run experiments across large clusters.
• Interpret results and define what “good enough” looks like.
