DCS Recruitment is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join its Safety & Control team in the Sheffield area. You will own complex control systems projects across nuclear and regulated sectors, leading design, development and integration of software and hardware solutions.

The role combines hands-on systems engineering with technical leadership, project delivery and client engagement, guiding projects from concept through commissioning and delivery.

Competenze

• 7+ years’ experience in systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of control systems software (SCADA, PLC, HMI).
• Experience applying systems engineering principles and integration processes.
• Background in software development and hardware integration.
• Experience in highly regulated environments; nuclear preferred.
• Experience on client sites including commissioning and delivery.
• Knowledge of project management, cost control and client management.
• Leadership, mentoring and management of engineering teams.
• Strong communication and presentation skills; client-facing experience.
• Understanding of contractual and commercial requirements.

Mansioni

• Lead design, development and integration of complex control systems.
• Translate client requirements into functional/non-functional specs.
• Oversee integration, testing, validation and troubleshooting.
• Lead technical documentation (design specs, requirements, test plans).
• Plan and lead commissioning activities at client sites.
