Job summary

Agilent Technologies Inc. in Harwell, UK is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to provide system-level technical leadership across the development of complex scientific instrumentation.

You will collaborate across software, firmware, electronics, mechanical engineering, applications, and operations to drive integration and successful product delivery. You will influence technical direction, lead cross-disciplinary design reviews, and mentor engineers throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a Systems Engineering role within a complex product development environment.
• Experience integrating hardware, firmware, and software in multidisciplinary systems.
• Strong system-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define, capture, and manage system-level requirements and translate customer and scientific needs into technical specs.
• Lead integration of hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical subsystems into complete instrument solutions and coordinate across disciplines.
• Define system verification and validation strategies and develop test approaches to demonstrate performance.
• Lead investigation of complex system issues using structured troubleshooting and drive root cause analyses.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to engineers and contribute to SE best practices.
