Job summary

Agilent Technologies LDA UK Limited is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer for its Harwell, UK R&D organisation. You will provide system-level leadership across hardware, software, firmware, electronics, and mechanics, driving integration and robust product solutions.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, technical direction, and rigorous verification/validation. You will influence decisions across engineering teams and contribute to long-term product success in a global R&D

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in a Systems Engineering role within a complex product development environment.
• Demonstrated success integrating multidisciplinary systems involving hardware, firmware, and software.
• Strong experience in system-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to influence technical decisions across multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Define, capture, and manage system-level requirements and interfaces.
• Lead integration of hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical subsystems.
• Define system verification and validation strategies and risk assessments.
• Lead investigations and root cause analysis for complex system issues.
• Provide coaching and mentoring within and across disciplines.
