Job summary

MERITUS is recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer to join a UK Central Government and Defence-focused team in Farnborough. The role requires deep experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, with emphasis on requirements, design and delivery, and a background in maritime/Defence sectors would be beneficial.

The position offers hybrid working with three days on-site in Farnborough and opportunities to work on high-profile Government programmes. Active SC clearance is essential.

Qualifications

• Active SC Clearance required.
• Degree-level engineering qualification or equivalent.
• CEng or equivalent.
• 7-10+ years' experience in systems engineering.
• Experience in requirements engineering and system design.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering methods across complex projects.
• Lead and coordinate technical teams and review work.
• Manage stakeholder and system requirements.
• Produce engineering plans and test outputs.
• Ensure safety, security and technical standards compliance.
• Support system design, integration and delivery.
