Job summary

Rapiscan Systems & AS&E Engineering team in Stoke-on-Trent seeks a Systems Engineer to lead large Cargo and Handheld product projects. You will drive the design-to-production lifecycle, establish cost-effective processes, and collaborate with R&D to introduce new technologies while meeting customer requirements.

The role demands significant engineering leadership, strong problem solving, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. Travel is expected as part of project delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as an Engineer in a relevant field.
• BEng or BSc in an Engineering or other relevant field of study.
• Experience overseeing technical work and delivering large projects.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-specialists clearly.
• Willingness to travel and strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning and control of key engineering project activities for Cargo and Handheld products.
• Execute New Product Introduction programs on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with R&D to adopt new technologies and methods.
• Work with Product Management to develop realistic goals and roadmaps.
• Transition new products from design to main factory production.
• Provide technical leadership across the full product lifecycle.
• Support bids and proposals with technical responses and estimates.
