Job summary

QinetiQ is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer at its Portsmouth, UK site to develop and support next-generation autonomous and robotic defence systems. You will deliver systems engineering across crewed and uncrewed platforms, undertake trial and integration activities, and produce engineering evidence to support customer requirements.

The role emphasizes outcomes across complex defence programmes, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and frequent travel to sites and overseas trials.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
• Experience in defence or safety-critical environments.
• Experience with integrated systems or systems-of-systems.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Leading systems engineering activities across complex defence and security projects
• Supporting the integration, testing and validation of software-enabled systems and trial rigs
• Providing technical support during operational trials and experimentation activities
• Working with customers and stakeholders to develop and deliver innovative systems-of-systems solutions
• Supporting crewed and uncrewed platforms across maritime and wider defence environments
• Producing high-quality technical documentation, reports and engineering evidence
