Position: Systems Project Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace Yeovil

Honeywell Aerospace Yeovil's ECS Systems Engineering division specializes in designing and developing complex aircraft bleed air management systems. These systems integrate subsystems like turbomachinery, electro-mechanical valves, heat exchangers, and electronic controls to meet specific performance objectives.

The Systems Engineering team focuses on defining system structures and behaviors to meet customer requirements. The Systems Project Engineer manages the entire product lifecycle, including concept development, design, build, qualification, certification, and in-service support. This role involves liaising with customers, leading global teams, and coordinating with external suppliers to ensure product designs align with system requirements.

The Role

• The Systems Project Engineer reports to the Yeovil Systems Engineering Manager.
• Responsible for ensuring system compliance with customer requirements, utilizing tools like DOORS / DOORS NG for requirements management.
• Manage the ECS system lifecycle: requirements capture, design, modeling, testing, and interpreting test results.
• Define system-level requirements and allocate them to electronic controls and components.
• Report on system design and development status to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with programme management, design, manufacturing, and customers as needed.
• Manage time effectively using Honeywell’s project management tools; some outside-hours work may be required due to global operations.
• Work independently and within cross-functional teams, utilizing available expertise and resources.

Qualifications & Experience

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Systems Engineering.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air management systems is advantageous.
• Experience with VCS technology and product design is beneficial.
• Strong foundation in engineering practices, design, and practical applications.
