Job summary

A global engineering firm is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to manage requirement specifications and system architecture. The role is based in Derby with hybrid working options available. Candidates should possess a degree in engineering or a STEM subject with a minimum of three years' experience in a regulated industry, such as Nuclear or Aerospace. Strong experience with DOORS software is preferred.

Qualifications

Job Description

• Responsibilities:
  • Requirement specification production / management
  • Interface Management
  • System Architecture definition
  • System Functional and Interface modelling
  • Working with mechanical, electrical and process systems
  • Operating requirements management database software (DOORS preferential)
  • Operating Model Based Systems engineering Software (Capella preferential)

• Background:
  • Engineer or Senior Engineer level resource (3 years experience minimum, 5+ more likely to be a good fit)
  • Experience in complex regulated industry essential (i.e. Nuclear, Aerospace, etc.)
  • Experience in Nuclear industry desirable.
  • Foundation background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is acceptable

Qualifications

• Systems Engineering:
  • Degree in engineering or STEM subject is mandatory or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Systems thinking and systems engineering processes is mandatory.
  • Systems engineering training/qualifications desirable.
  • Willing to accept a candidate with SE experience and a desire to move into this field if they can demonstrate competence.
  • Experience operating Rationale DOORS software as a practitioner is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering is desirable.
  • Awareness of relevant BS or INCOSE standards desirable
