Job summary

Lockheed Martin is urgently recruiting Systems Engineers to join our Ampthill, Bedfordshire-based team for permanent on-site roles.

You will perform a range of systems engineering activities, including requirements management, MBSE, verification planning, and collaboration with software teams. A high-level security clearance is required or supported through the process.

Qualifications

• Active high-level security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience with architecture frameworks (e.g. UAF / NAF).
• Experience with SysML/UML.
• Experience with software teams and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of data distribution systems and data links.

Job description

We are urgently seeking to recruit a number of Systems Engineers, to be based predominantly on-site at our Ampthill, Bedfordshire offices, in a permanent capacity.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible to the Programme Chief Engineers. Specific role scope will be subject to assigned programme but will include a range of systems engineering activities:

Classical requirements management and development.

Verification Planning.

MBSE.

Research Projects.

A key requirement of this role is the ability to obtain and maintain a high‑level security clearance. If you do not currently hold the required clearance, we can support you through the application process.

Suitable candidates may have proven experience of following systems activities:

• Trade study definition and delivery.
• Definition and monitoring of Technical KPIs.
• System architecture and sub-system derivation.
• Experience in varied architecture frameworks / methodologies.
• Sequence/Activity/Use case Diagrams.
• Interface Definitions (ICDs and IDLs).
• Data Distribution Systems and Data Links.
• Research and Development

Candidates will benefit from:

• Experience in working in a classified setting.
• Experience in Architecture Frameworks (e.g. UAF / NAF).
• Experience in SysML/UML using CAMEO, Rhapsody.
• IBM Jazz (DOORS-NG and Test-Manager/Quality-Manager).
• Experience in Matlab & Simulink.
• AI/ML Tools and techniques.
• Experience of working with Software teams and developments (e.g. Agility, Sprints, Kanbans).
• Using collaborative teamworking tools (sharepoint, JIRA, Confluence).
• M&S studies such as Computational Fluid Dynamics, trajectory modelling, Finite Element Analysis or the application of complex algorithms to engineering challenges.
